Over the course of this semester it at first was a challenge for me to get the word out about sex slavery with advance technology!  I’ve heard of Twitter and I’ve heard of blogging but never did I imagine I would have to use it one day nor, was I aware of how powerful theses tools were!  So many people I mean millions of people are on Twitter and also blogging you can get a whole nation involved in something with just a single tweet or a with just one post it truly is amazing!  It took a few weeks to get use to the whole Twitter thing but once I got the hang of it, it was a piece of cake!  I feel good about my accomplishment in taking a stand, being a voice for woman and children facing sex slavery. My family and friends are now involved as well as more aware of what is going on in this world todayTheory are more informed on how slavery continues to go on in this present time. It bothers me a great deal and, any person with a heart, it should and will bother you if it has not already! I guarantee after viewing my video it will, so come on let’s go, lets take a step closer in helping me along with others put an end to sex slavery! THORN: DEMI AND ASHTON HELPING TO END SEX SLAVERY

A lot of celebrities today have realized that human trafficking is a big problem in the world today, that it needs to come to an end, and have taken a stand in this outrage.  Two people who have taken a stand in putting an end to sex slavery / human trafficking is actress, Demi Moore and actor, Ashton Kutcher, with their organization “THORN-WE ARE DIGITAL DEFENDERS OF CHILDREN”. They raise money and host charities event to help with funding, and research on ending sex slavery. Demi and Ashton, also known has DNA, have recently added a technology component to help prevent child sexual exploitation. I found that very interesting, very different. Their finding new ways to help find people who visit child pornography sites or have even created them, as well as those trying to sexually exploits children over the internet which happens a lot. Yes a lot of victims first accounts happens face to face in person however a great deal is done over the internet. I think it is a very good idea and all research and findings from DNA’s organization is shared with the right enforcement. Ashton and Demi have also done a few commercials with big time celebrities such as Justin Timberlake and Jamie Foxx. These commercials show men doing things they would not normally do such as Justin Timberlake taking a chain saw to shave, and Jamie Foxx using a tv remote to open his beer instead of using it to change the channel or turn the volume up or even turn off the tv. I liked the commercials and thought they were different and grabbed people’s attention. Other celebs such as Jada Pinkett Smith, Ashley Judd, Ricky Martin, and Talib Kweli just to name a few. Brianna’s Story- A Victim of Sex Slavery

Met Brianna an innocent teenage girl with big dreams who became a victim of human trafficking, in this post you will hear her story.  It does not matter who you are or where you come from at anytime you or a loved one can become part of this nightmare human trafficking. Take Brianna for example she was an average teen, good grades in school, cheerleader  from a middle class tight-knit loving family. Brianna had a job working at a diner  after school and on the weekends.  She enjoyed every bit of working at the diner.  Of course, when working at places like this in a small town it is normal or excepted to get, have regulars.  Brianna had two customers in particular, Richard and his wife, who became are regulars, whom she developed a relationship with.  She would discuss many things with them such as her plans to further an education, what school she wanted to attend, what type of boys she dated, etc.  One day Richard came in alone and stated that he and his wife had got a divorced and wanted to know it Brianna wanted to go out and party with him.  Brianna did not realize how he was coming on to her however found the invite a little awkward so she declined.  However, Briana then meet a young man named Nick who had all the qualities she liked in a boy/man, blond, athletic, wore designer clothes, expensive car and jewels to match even offered her to get her the same.  Nick wheeled her in this way even turned Briana against her own family.  He convinced her to work at strip clubs, put in her mind it was okay and she would just do it for a short period, she made way more money than she had ever and just a few nights. However, when she went to return her family’s car a good friend was to drive her back to Seattle but got a bad vibe and informed her family.  Her family loved her so much that contacted a force and convinced her to stay away never return to Seattle nor to the diner, and to get all new numbers after learning that she was indeed a victim of sex slavery. She now tells her story and is part of HOPE she help get the word out and end Sex Slavery. It happened to this well-educated, innocent, family oriented girl, it can happen to you, your child or your loved one.  Please get the word out and help to save dreams all over the world, become part of putting an end to SEXSLAVERY!

Human Trafficking In The United States

The Untied States is well-known for being the “Home of the Free” and the “Land of the Brave” right? Most people in other countries are doing any and everything just to get over here in the USA for freedom and equality right? If all this is true how could sex slavery be going on right here in this very country? How come people don’t think about that before moving their wife and children? One may think coming to this country they will escape sex slavery, still have hope, still have dreams, but once they get over here they realize it is the same now just on a different country and that the USA is not what we claim it to be. We need to stand up and live up to what the American people we are the “Home of the Free” and “Land of the Brave” we took a stand and ended sex slavery and there will be NO MORE STOLEN DREAMS we will start SAVING DREAMS how could our numbers be so high right here in America! Lets put a stop to this now!

President Obama Taking a Stand To End Sex Slavery

On September 25 2012 our President Barack Obama signed an executive order to help end modern-day slavery ( human trafficking, sex slavery). President Obama gave a very heart-felt uplifting speech on sex slavery. Below is a portion of the speech he delivered:

“It ought to concern every person, because it’s a debasement of our common humanity. It ought to concern every community, because it tears at the social fabric. It ought to concern every business, because it distorts markets. It ought to concern every nation, because it endangers public health and fuels violence and organized crime. I’m talking about the injustice, the outrage, of human trafficking, which must be called by its true name—modern slavery.”

He could not have said it any better, everyone should be concerned and help putting an end to this tragedy, we all should be taking a stand in this horrendous act, sex slavery needs to end today!

This brought tears to my eyes! This is happening to children and woman all around the world today. I don’t know a soul her on Earth that could watch this and not want to stand up and help put a stop to sex slavery. This gave me chills could not imagine going through this! I began to feel her pain, scream her screams, feel her fear, cry her tears, I never ever want to go there again! I never ever want anyone to go there again no one deserves that especially innocent people, it is so unfair. Her life, her soul, her dreams all stolen, she was robbed. Greetings! We all have learned about slavery in history class during grade school, right? It was written and laws were passed in which slavery was ended, right? So why does it still exist? We have come far enough in this world, technology has advanced so much that shocks me at times, so why is it that slavery is still occurring?
